David was a blacksmith and wagon maker, like the three generations of Justins before him. For more than half a century he was the directing head of the Justin Wagon Works until his retirement in 1918. His shop supplied Western NY, PA, and Ohio with wagons of many types including water wagons, produce wagons, ambulances, and sprinklers for city parks. David was also a member of the Jubilee Water Works Commission; he won an award for the design/construction of an Ice Plow; and he helped establish the Jubilee Public Library on Niagara Street.
