Funeral services for Robert Lee Sornsen, 59, of Nevada City, were held Saturday, Jan. 16,, at Chapel of the Pines. The Rev. Richard E. Eggert and the Drytown lodge F&AM conducted the services. Interment was in the Union cemetery.
Mr. Sornsen died Jan. 13 in Sacramento and spent 4 years in Saigon, then to Darwin, Australia and then returned to USA. He spent his teen years in El Dorado county and later his adult years.
He was a member of the Drytown Masonic lodge, 41 year member of the operating engineers and former business agent.
Mr. Sornsen is survived by is wife Margaret Sornsen of Nevada City; father of Roger Sornsen of Florin and Sandra Finley of Pittsburg; broth rod Hilda Pentz of Placerville, Charles Brown of Nevada, Oren Brown, Henry Brown, George Larrabe and Lorraine Tuffts, all of Sacramento, and Virginia Corey and Beverly Palmer, both of Redding."
