Mrs. Harriet Hunter Carruthers, wife of the late Robert Caruthers died at four o'clock this morning after a lingering illness. She passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs Carlton Allen who resides at 728 Irving avenue. The deceased was a native of Ohio, 67 years old and a resident of Astoria for many years. Mrs. Carruthers was an active church worker, a lovable mother and a kind friend. She leaves two daughters and three sons to mourn her loss. Mrs Carlton Allen; R.R.R.E. and A.R. Carruthers of Astoria and Mrs. W.W. Ridehalgh of Portland. The funeral is announced to take place Wednesday from the Episcopal church.

Another note: Company B. of the Home Guard will not hold a drill tomorrow evening out of respect to the memory of the late Mrs. Harriet H. Carruthers, mother of Captain Carruthers.
