Bertie Lee Renfro Gilbert, 85, of 8725 Asheville Hwy., Spartanburg, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Gilbert, the wife of the late Clyde C. "Jake" Gilbert, was the daughter of the late Duran Keel and Audie Brown Renfro. She was a native of Marion, NC and a Spartanburg Resident since 1929.
Mrs. Gilbert was retired as a buyer from the Aug. W. Smith Co. where she worked for 46 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was a member of the Survivors' Class.
Survivors include three brothers, Kenneth Renfro of Marietta, Ga., Johnny Renfro of Conway, SC, and Ray Renfro of Calhoun, Ga.; two sisters, Faye Crocker and Betty Chalk, both of Spartanburg; one nephew, Joseph Renfro and his wife Kellie of Spartanburg; three nieces, Claudia Renfro of Spartanburg, Rene' Pryor and her husband Reggie of Spartanburg, and Cathy Hall and her husband Wesley of Inman, SC; three great nephews, "Reg" Pryor, Joshua Hall and Joseph Renfro; and two great nieces, Hannah Hall and Anna Renfro. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Renfro and N. J. "Nim" Renfro and a sister, Myrtle Barnette.
Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18 at First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg officiated by Dr. Michael Hamlet. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park
