James F. Pettit, 83 passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010.

Mr. Pettit was born February 15, 1927 in Cedartown, Georgia.

He was educated at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia graduating with honors on the Dean's list.

He has resided in Jacksonville since 1964 owning several businesses. After retiring, Mr. Pettit worked part-time in the Service Dept. at Nimnicht Chevrolet for many years.

He is predeceased by two wives, Betty and Joyce.

He is survived by 3 children and 4 step children; Steven Pettit (Liz), Sandra Levicki, Carol Reimer (Ron), Doug Eller (Beth), Michael Eller (Jan), Mark Eller (Letha), Karen Akel and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 11:00 AM in the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.
