After further research, Hannah actually died on 2 Feb 1741. In that era, February was the 12th month of the year, which is why after you will see dates off by 3 months. It most likely was inscribed "2nd day of 12th month 1740." In our era, we would've referred to that as 2nd day of February 1741, since the year would have changed. :-)
