Chelsea Renee Carrier, 10, of Columbia, MO, passed away on August 4, 2004, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

The twin daughter of Rodney and Cheryl (Melvin) Carrier, she was born on February 27, 1994, in Columbia, MO.

Chelsea attended the Hallsville Elementary School, where she had completed the third grade.

Survivors include her parents, Rodney and Cheryl Carrier and her twin sister, Lindsay Carrier of the home; grandparents, Mary Melvin of Lancaster, MO, Donald and Virginia Carrier of Columbia, MO; great-grandfather, Lynn Carrier of Ottumwa, IA; several aunts, uncles and cousins, who loved her dearly as well as the many doctors and nurses, who cared for her.

Chelsea was preceded in death by her grandfather, Wayne Dean Melvin.

Funeral services were held August 7, 2004, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO, with Robert Beeler officiating. Music was provided by organist, Maureen Watkins and soloists, Cheryl Brown and Schelle Cooley. Active pallbearers were Kirk Stott, Kevin Sullivan, Tom Andert and Vaughn Ayer. Honorary pallbearers were Uncle Russell, Uncle Tim, Uncle Gail, Uncle Jerry, Uncle Mike, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Kevin and Uncle Dave. Memorials have been established for the Chelsea Carrier Memorial Fund and may be sent to the First National Bank, 801 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO 65202 or to the Norman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 176, Lancaster, MO 63548. Burial was in the Fabius Cemetery, east of Lancaster, MO. A memorial service will be held at the Hallsville Elementary School on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. Final arrangements were by the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
