Bernard J. Cluskey, 74, of rural Elmwood died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1992, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born Oct. 13, 1918, near Brimfield to John and Florence Bristol Cluskey, he married Kathryn Talmage on Nov. 24, 1945, in Brimfield. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bernard Jr. of Mapleton and Steve of Albany, Ore.; two brothers, Dr. Donald of LaMesa, Calif., and Gerald of Brimfield; and four granddaughters.

A World War II Army veteran, he attended St. Ambrose College and farmed near Brimfield.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brimfield, Elmwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4724 and was past commander of Brimfield American Legion Post 452. He was a member of Peoria County Board of Supervisors and was supervisor of Brimfield Township for 18 years.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at his church. The Revs. Joseph Kelly and Patrick Brennan will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Patterson Funeral Home in Elmwood. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brimfield.

Memorials may be made to Proctor Hospital oncology department or his church.
