Word has been received here of the death of Joseph Clark, a former resident of this city and a brother of Mrs H McLaughlin and Mrs L A Wise of this city, Mrs A T Maupin of Athens, Mrs C E Schweikert of Clifton Forge and C A Clark of Colorado.
No particulars of his death have been received other that he died at Sacramento City California of pneumonia on November 5th. The remains are expected to arrive here for burial today or tomorrow and will be taken to the old home near Mercer Salt Works for burial.

The remains of Joseph R Clark, who died in California on Nov 6, arrived here on No 2 last night, and were taken in charge by Undertaker Gott. The funeral will not take place for a day or two yet owing to the high water, making it impossible to cross the streams to reach the place of burial.
