Died in hospital in Juneau, Alaska. Residence was in Pelican, Alaska on the northwest part of Chichagof Island west of Juneau.

Worked for the Hughes Aircraft Co in Tucson, Arizona during the 1950s. Co-owner with brother Lee Whiteman of bar in Juneau for many years.

He was married 1st to Jimmie McBride ?; and 2nd to Grace Mary ? ?.

CARL OTTO WHITEMAN-Funeral services for Carl O. Whiteman of Pelican are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Alaska Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel in Juneau. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Whiteman died Saturday in Juneau. He was 49 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Mary of Pelican; stepdaughters Jo Ann ?(daughter of Jimmie McBride & ?)of Arizona, Nancy Shaeffer of Juneau, Ruth Nakumaru of Juneau and Barbara Kelly of Idaho; stepson Bill Jacobson of Washington; brothers Bob Whiteman of Kansas City, Kansas, Lee Whiteman of Juneau, Gene Whiteman of St. Joseph, Missouri; and two sisters, Sue Berry of Prescott, Arizona and Vi Williams of Eldon, Missouri.
Officers of the Juneau Elks Lodge will officiate at the funeral service. Mr. Whiteman was a member of Juneau Elks No. 420. Memorial should be sent to the Elks' C.P. Fund.
