HOBBS, N.M. — Services for Nadine Lovelady, 85, of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with Bruce McBee, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be at Memory Gardens under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.

She died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003.

She was born May 23, 1917, in Sweetwater. She married John Travis Lovelady in August 1941. She was the first woman licensed as a contractor in New Mexico. She was a Realtor and builder and operated Lovelady Realty and Construction until she retired in 1989. She was a member of Lea Lion's, American Business Women, chaplain of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, board of directors of Right to Life, Business and Professional Women's Club and Hobbs Board of Realtors. She was named to Who's Who of American Women in 1983 and 1984. She was a Southern Baptist and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hobbs.

Survivors include a son, Gaylon Lovelady of Hobbs; a brother, Arbert Gabriel Pool of Redding, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests Baptist Children's Home of Portales, N.M.
