There are those who say that her maiden name was Samantha Elizabeth Porter according to a family Bible. However, the only PUBLIC record of her maiden name is the 21 Feb 1850 Hall county, Georgia marriage record which indicates that her maiden name was Mary Elizabeth PRATOR. One of these is obviously in error, but which one? I choose to go with the public record as correct and have also been able to track many ancestors of a Mary Elizabeth Prator--where is the ancestry of this Samantha Elizabeth Porter?
