Lucius 'Luther' Jackson Sims was the son of Kellet L. Sims and Sarah Ann Crane who married 29 Dec 1862 in Georgia. He was one of nine children born to that marriage. Luther Sims married first ca. 1905 Rebecca Sims, the daughter of John Adams Sims and Sarah Malissa Ashcraft. They had two children before she died:

First wife Rebecca (Sims) Sims died 11 June 1910 and Luther Sims remarried. He married 2nd on 18 January 1911 in Clay Co. AL, Oma E. Warren, the daughter of James Floyd Warren and Emma Carter. They had an additional five children.
