CHARLOTTE PATRICIA LIPPERT
1923 – 2010

Charlotte Patricia Lippert, known as Pat to family and friends, went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2010 at her home in Taft, CA. Pat was born in Maricopa, CA to Franklin and Charlotte "Lottie" (French) Varley on March 17, 1923, the youngest of four children. She went through the Maricopa schools, where she made lifelong friends, graduating from Maricopa High School. Pat met her future husband, John Lippert, of Fellows, CA at a dance hall in Derby Acres. They fell in love, got married on May 4, 1947 in Las Vegas, NV, and raised four children together in Taft. She regularly took her children to the First Baptist Church where, for many years, she taught 3rd grade Sunday School. Pat enjoyed bowling with local leagues and golfing at BV with the Ladies Association. RVing with friends and family was a favorite pastime with Lee Vining as a special destination. All of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren remember her as a kind, considerate and loving person with a great sense of humor. She loved her family, especially the babies, and they loved her. She liked to stay in touch with family and friends through Facebook, Instant Messaging and email. She would say, "That's how I find out what's going on." She enjoyed taking care of her farms on Facebook. There was always a jigsaw puzzle out for the family to gather around. Her generosity will be well remembered by her family, especially at Christmas time, with the tins of homemade candy and her famous pomegranate jelly that she made for each family. Pat is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Franklin; and twin great-grandsons, Troy Amos Logan and Roy Eckley Logan. Pat is survived by her husband of 62 years, her children, her eleven grandchildren and their spouses, her 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers from Optimal Hospice for their kindness. A graveside service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. A luncheon will be served in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church, 220 North St., Taft. No visitation hours are scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home. www.ericksonandbrown.com.
