Van H. Glover was the eldest of the 12 children of James Edward Glover and Louvenia Allen Rawley Glover. His siblings were: Brice Napoleon "Polie," Robert William, James Edward, Jr., Darius Tennessee, George David "Dave," Minnie Virginia, Sidney Stanton, Nancy Elizabeth "Bettie," Martha Adelaide "Mattie," Mary Louvenia "Molly", and Alta Hula Glover. He was married to Ann Maria Reed, and they were the parents of Alta May Glover (Meador). Ann died 9 days after May's birth.

NOTE: Birth year is incorrect on tombstone. According to Bible record, he was born 1849. This is consistent with census records.
