Lewis Henry Apple Dies Tuesday At Keyesport Home

Lewis Henry Apple, life long resident of Keyesport and Clinton county, passed away at his home in Keyesport at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday following a long period of failing health. Two weeks ago he sustained a stroke and gradually declined.
The body was brought to the Donnell Funeral Home in Greenville Tuesday but was returned to the family residence Wednesday. Mr. Apple was born in Clinton county, March 20, 1882, a son of Wm and Jeannettie Alexander Apple. On December 19, 1906 he was married in Greenville to Charlottie A. Woods and she survives with three children, Bert Apple of Chicago, Herschel of Keyesport and Mrs. Earl Allen also of Keyesport with eight grandchildren. Mr. Apple leaves a brother, Charles Apple of Clinton county; a half brother, Burton Apple of San Francisco, and four sisters, Mrs. Nora McDonnell of Peabody, Ka., Mrs. Minnie Elliot of Clinton county, Mrs. Lena Kincart of Pasadena, Ca. and Mrs. Nellie Carter of Keyesport. His mother Mrs. Nettie Apple of Keyesport also survives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the Keyesport Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. Dallas Newby and burial was made in the Duncan cemetery.
