Frank C. Seidl, Appleton, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the home of his daughter where he lived the past 3 years. He was born on January 6, 1914, to the late Charles and Mary (Sigl) Seidl. Frank was employed for 42 years at Riverside Paper Corp. until his retirement in 1976 where he was a member of the 25 year Club. On September 28, 1937, he was united in marriage to Catherine Vosters at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. He met Catherine, the love of his life, on a blind date and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage. Frank was very dedicated to Catherine throughout their life together. He was a member of the Catholic Knights and 3rd order of St. Francis. He and Catherine enjoyed square dancing and sheepshead card clubs. Frank was an avid gardener, who was known for his rose bushes. He was also a die-hard Cubs Fan. Frank was always very proud of his family and made everyone feel special.

He is survived by four children: Fran (Nancy), Combined Locks; Ann (Bob) Arndt, Wisconsin Rapids; David (Cathie), Weyauwega; and Mary Kris (Bruce) Carew, Appleton; 10 grandchildren: Gail (Dan) Schultz, Jeff (Barb) Seidl, Sue (Jeff) Smith, Steve (Kelly) Seidl, Melissa (Bobby) Mabry, Mike (Amy) Arndt, David (Fran) Seidl, Denise Seidl, Kevin (Fiancee Heather) Carew, and Keith Carew; 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters: Kathryn Kuepper and Agnes Seidl; two brothers: Leonard Seidl and Lawrence (M.C.) Seidl; sisters and brothers-in-law: Leo (Margie) Vosters, Tom (Donna) Vosters, Dorothy Schmidt, Leone Seidl, Marcie Seidl, Percy Vosters, Margie Vosters, Doris Vosters, and Sr. Mary Vosters. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his dog "Roxie."

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine; five brothers: Charles, Joseph, Michael, William and Henry; two sisters: Louisa Zellner and Marie Stumpf; sisters and brothers-in-law: Wally, Lawrence, Norbert, John, Joseph, Bernard, Louis Vosters, and Margaret Kunstman.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, with Fr. Larry Abler, O.F.M. Cap officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. concluding the evening. Friends may call again directly at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Frank's name is being established.
