Funeral Services Were Held at Easley Wednesday -
The interment of Dr Matthews, who died a few days ago in Elberton, Georgia, was held in West View cemetery on Wednesday. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful.
Among those who came from Elberton were: Messrs George Grogan, Edward Stark, Dr. A J Matthews and son, Mrs Adams and Rev Mr Stacy. Quite a number from Greenville, Pickens and Anderson were present.
Last Tuesday Dr Matthews was able to be out, but was not well and had it not been for his interest in his patients would have taken his bed earlier. He was an attentive physician, always making sacrifice for those in his charge. As a man he was universally liked and was a useful citizen of his community.
