Geneve Smith Leonard, 77, died Fri. morning, July 31, 1992 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born May 31, 1915 in Centerville, Utah to David Felshaw and Effie Mae Porter Smith. She married Eugene Grant Leonard of Huntington, Utah, July 17, 1937 in Preston, Idaho; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended school in Centerville and Salt Lake City. Graduated from the University of Utah in food and nutrition with a minor in child development, clothing and chemistry. Used and developed her skills as a home economics teacher at the University of Utah, food editor for the Salt Lake Tribune, food and nutrition teacher at Layton's Central Junior High and Kaysville Junior High and teacher of famly life classes at Viewmont High School. She was honored as Teacher of the Year at Viewmont High School and Woman of the Year, Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and served as Rho Chapter president.
Survived by daughters; Joan Nielsen, Murray; Lynne Ohrn, New Canaan, Conn.; Helen Kaye Ekins, Paradise, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Rulon E. Smith, Salt Lake City; Lowell D. Smith, Ogden.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 6, 1992, 11 a.m. in the Monument Park 17th Ward, 2795 Crestview Drive. Friends may visit Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South and at the ward Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment, Centerville City Cemetery.
