Mrs. A. s. Wood died Saturday, March 26 at 10:50 a.m. following a brief illness, having suffered a stroke of paralysis at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon. She had suffered a previous stroke around Christmas of 1937.
Mrs. Wood was widely known in and about Wellington and Quail, where she had lived for the past thirty years, and all who knew her loved her for her qualities of friendship and kindness.
Mrs. Wood, nee Fannie Lee Beck, was born in Hess, OK October 18,1892 and at the time of her death was 45 years, 5 months and 8 days of age. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. J. Beck, who were pioneers in that section of Oklahoma.
Coming to Wellington when she was 15 years of age, Mrs. Wood settled with her parents at Quail, where Dr. Beck practiced medicine for a number of years. On October 26, 1910 she was married to A. S. Wood and since that time had made her home in Wellington.
Surviving her are her husband, A. S. Wood of Wellington, and four children, Mrs. Roy Bounds, Miss Vone Wood and Hoy Wood, all of Wellington, and Dolphus Wood of Henderson. Her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Beck and three brothers, Dewey Beck and Patrick Beck of Midwest, Wyoming and Jack Beck of Hobbs, NM, also survive.
