SALINA--Leonard R. Edwards, Jr., 43, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City.
Mr. Edwards was born Nov. 27, 1964, at Tinker AFB, Okla., the son of Leonard R., Sr. and Doris E. (Linthicum) Edwards.
He graduated from Bellevue West High School, Bellevue, Neb. and attended Southwestern Community College. He worked at
Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa for five years. He moved to Jefferson, Iowa and worked at Menards and then
Lowe's for 10 years. He worked at Lowe's in Afton, Iowa for two years before transferring to Lowe's in Salina in May
2008. He married Tonia (Klassen) Hedman on May 31, 2008, she survives of the home.
Survivors include his wife, Tonia Hedman-Edwards of Salina;one son, Luke Edwards of Afton, Iowa; one step-daughter,
Destinee Lenay Hedman of Salina; three step-sons, Austin Wallis Hedman, Gabriel William Hedman, Samuel Lakin Hedman,
all of Salina; his parents, Leonard, Sr. and Doris Edwards of Lamoni, Iowa; two brothers, Michael Edwards and Steve
Edwards, both of Lamoni, Iowa.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center with Pastor David
McCowan officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
