Marcella Marie Zike, 90, of Mattoon, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 15, at the Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Avenue in Mattoon. Funeral services honoring her life will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lou Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon.
Marcella was born September 28, 1919 in Sidell, Illinois, a daughter of Fredrick Berlin and Bessie (Dowers) Berlin. She married Honor Tutwiler in January, 1937. He passed away on October 30 1979. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Clyde Berlin.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Tutwiler of Largo, Florida, Allan and wife Joyce Zike of Mattoon, Jerry and wife Betty Zike of Mattoon, Roger Zike of Mattoon, Dennis Cowling of Evansville, Indiana and Steven Zike of Mattoon; her daughters, Wilmetta Osborne of Mattoon and Twyla Sue Swango of Charleston; 18 granddaughters; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Zike worked for 20 years at R.R. Donnelly. She was a member of the Central Community Church of Mattoon. She was an avid bingo player and was also very devoted to her family. She will be missed.
