Howard Trout, Ex-Christiana Burgess Dead
A former burgess of Christiana for 15 years, Howard J. Trout, eighty-seven, died Wednesday at 1:55 p.m. at the Tel-Hai Nursing Home, Honey Brook R2. He had been ill for six months.
Born in Bart Twp., he was the son of the late Joel and Anne McMinn Trout. He had been employed by the Christiana Machine Co. for 60 years at the time he retired a few years ago.
[bold print]: Husband of the late Cora A. Quigley, he was elected burgess of Christiana in 1936 and retired in 1951 after serving 15 years in the non-salaried post.
He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and the Christiana Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Lloyd S. Trout, Dayton, Ohio, and by two daughters, Lola, wife of Brewer G. Walton, Philadelphia, and Yvonne T., wife of George M. Everhart, Allentown.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three brothers: Chester Trout, Harrisburg; Clarence Trout, Lancaster, and Ferree Trout, Pomeroy.
