Nathaniel was the son of Sylvanus Cole. Nathaniel was a Sgt. in the Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution and also served in the White Plains, NY Militia. He was introduced to the White plains area by fighting in the Battle of White Plains. He did not fight at many battles, but earned his respect through fighting fiercely in skirmishes.
