Frank J. Trout
Frank J. Trout, age 77, of 1039 Georgetown Road, Paradise, PA died Thursday morning at his residence.
He and his wife Betty J. Herr Trout would have celebrated 54 years of marriage in July.
Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Enos F. and Sarah Chalfant Trout. He was employed in various jobs starting with PEBCO, then with Frey and Son Kitchens and Cabinets, followed by Crown Kitchens and lastly for PA DOT as a road foreman for 13 years retiring in 1991.
A Korean War veteran he served as a Corporal with the 5th Infantry Division receiving 2 bronze stars, the Korean War Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal.
He was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, deacon, trustee, and a former choir member.
He was a member of Quarryville American Legion Post #603 and a life member of Bart Fire Company. Frank enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, traveling and gardening.
Surviving beside his wife Betty are 2 sons, Paul R. married to Kay L. Trout of New Providence, Donald E. married to Barbara L. Trout of Akron; 3 granddaughters; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Miriam A. Stokes of Lititz, Lavera J. Groff of Bart, Roberta F. Deibler of Quarryville; 2 brothers, Walter B. married to Dorothy M. Trout of Lititz and Enos F. Trout of Lititz.
Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth H. Trout and a sister, Mary Jane Farmer Wissler.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 29th at 11:00 AM at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA, with Pastor Douglas Hileman officiating. Interment will follow in Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
