WILLIAM LANCASTER CRAVEN, a retired carpenter who was with the Louisville Railway Company and its successor, the Louisville Transit Company, for 30 years, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home, 816 S. 33d (The same residence he had in 1938!). He was 80. He retired from work a decade ago. He was a native of Owensboro. Surviving are his wife, the former Geneva App; three sons, Bert C., A. Paul, and C. Thomas Craven; a daughter, Mrs. Earl Givan, Indianapolis; two brothers, Blaze Craven, Indianapolis, and Frank Craven; a sister, Mrs. Rose Gaston; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from D. J. Dougherty and Son Funeral Home, 3237 W. Broadway, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Buried, 5/20/1960, in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, Ky; A Double Flush Marker with the inscription: CRAVEN; William L.; 1879 - 1960; Father; Geneva B.; 1883 - 1978; Mother; Section 21; Lot 364; Grave 1.
