Don was the only son of Luther S. and Edith May (Burris) Nichols of Mangum, Oklahoma. Don Nichols is survived by his wife Evelyn, his daughter Connie Sue, a son, Kelly Don, and two granddaughters, Kristen and Ashley. Don had a 31 year career as a public school educator, coach and administrator in eastern Colorado. He loved coaching and touched the lives of thousands of rural Colorado kids. He served in the Navy during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Don had an irrepressible and "colorful" personality. He is warmly remembered by his "double" cousins: W. C. Burris, Orville Wayne Burris, Jerry M. Burris, and James C. Rogers, all of Mangum, OK.
