Leewin was the son of David Kindrick and Mary Eveline (Appleby) Williams and spent his childhood in Greene County, Missouri. He attended business college in Stansberry, Missouri in the late 1880's. While in college he worked for a company sending out catalogues and circulars. After college he accepted a position teaching school (September 1890). In 1894 he married 1) Mary "Mollie" Henry in Independence, Jackson County, MO. They later moved to Texas where son Palmer Henry and daughter Anita Bell were born. "Mollie" died in 1906 one month after the birth of her daughter Anita. Leewin married 2) Margurite Christine Illy in 1907, Peniel, TX. While there he was present for the founding of the Nazarene Church and College. A daughter Christine was born to them in 1907. In 1908 Leewin, Margurite and family moved to Washington, D.C. where he accepted employment with the Department of Treasury and later the Internal Revenue Service. In 1909 a son Chester Milton was born. While working for the government he engrossed documents and diplomas using his exquiste penmanship. He founded LEEWIN B. WILLIAMS and SON Publishing and authored numerous books and pamphlets. His devotion to the Nazarene Church was shown as when the First Church of the Nazarene, Washington, D.C. found itself in need of a pastor, Leewin accepted this position. His biography list his accomplishments as public school teacher, superintendent of high school, a college professor, owner of a business college, a government employee, an artist and a minister of the gospel.
