Mrs. Lillian Roy Sawyers born in Caperton, W.VA., on October 9 1916, was the oldest child of John and Eliza Roy. She spent her childhood years in Lumberport, W.VA., where she attended school. She married James Edward Sawyers and from that union three children were born: Lois Jean Bollin, Doris Loretta Hainesworth, and James Edward Sawyers, Jr.
She joined the St. Paul A.M.C. Church in Charleston, W.VA., under the leadership of Rev. Winton M. Hill ad became an active member in the church. Mrs. Sawyers depated this world to be with the Lord on January 21, 1998. She leaves to mourn, her children; two sisters: Doris Lee Houston, Clarksburg, W.VA. and Ethel Mae Johnson, Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren:Cindy Parker, Leslie Byrd, Terri Holly, James E. Sawyers III, Dennis Sawyers, Rhonda Frye, and Raechel Sawyers, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; two sons-in-law: John Bollin and Fred Hainsworth, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very good friends.
We do not lose the ones we love... They only go before...
Where there is everlasting life...Where sorrow is no more...There the soul will always live...And peace is everywhere...We do not lose the ones we love...God takes them in his care.
