George L. Everett

George Larkin Everett, age 74, long-time prominent citizen of Huntsville, died at his home Saturday afternoon after a long illness. He had been barely able to move about for some time but had been seriously ill only two or three days preceding his death.
Born January 28, 1873 in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of Samuel and Sarah Everett, he came to Madison county at an early age. He has been prominent in the public life of the county and his community.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Florence D. Everett; two sons, Pryce and Hill, both of Huntsville; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Simpson of Fullerton, Calif., and Mrs. Ruby Simpson of Orange, Calif.
Funeral services were conducted at the chapel of the Brashears Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. October 20 by Rev. Kermit VanZant, Methodist pastor of Huntsville. Burial was in the Alabam cemetery with arrangements by the local funeral home. Pallbearers were Tommy Hatfield, Virgil Hatfield, Carl Hatfield, Elmer Everett, Noble Grubb and Loy Cox.
