Mrs. Amanda Koontz, wife of Kenny Koontz, died last evening shortly before 5 o'clock at her home near North River Depot. He death was caused by oseomalacis, a somewhat rare disease of the bones.

Mrs. Koontz was a daughter of the late Jonathan Tutwiler and was born near North River Depot 54 years ago.

Surviving her are her husband and two children, Lurty M. Koontz, who lives at home, and Mrs. Alice Leavel, of the Meyerhoeffer's Store neighborhood. She also leaves a brother, Thomas Tutwiler, of Goshen, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Sandy, on Mossy Creek.

Mrs. Koontz was a member of the Church of the Brethren and was known as a devout Christian. She commanded the respect and esteem of all with whom she came in contact.

The funeral will be held at the Mill Creek Church of the Brethren Sunday morning at 11 o'clock.
