In 1879, he first moved from Limestone Co., Alabama, with his older brother Andrew N Walker, on a covered wagon. They were the first Alabama Walkers to move to Texas. Joe's real name was: Joel Riley Walker. Joel also had a 1st-cousin, Joel E Walker, (one of Hamilton Walker's many sons), who also moved to Oklahoma, sometime near or after the year 1900.
