Lois P. "Tommy" Anderson Britt, 89, of Cambridge, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 212 E. Court St., Cambridge. The Rev. John Eisfelder will officiate. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lois Anderson Britt Memorial Fund.

The former Lois Phillis was born July 4, 1920, in Cambridge, the daughter of Og A. and Blanch B. Bloom Phillis. She was educated in area schools. Her marriage to Robert N. Anderson took place on Aug. 17, 1941, in Springfield, Mo. He died Feb. 25, 2001. She married Gerald Britt on Dec. 28, 2007, in Yuma, Ariz. Tommy worked for several years at the Henry County Recorder's Office in Cambridge.

Her memberships include the Cambridge United Methodist Church, the Gila Bend United Methodist Church in Yuma, the Mothers of World War II, Cambridge, and she served as president of the Illinois Chapter in 1994 and president of the National Chapter of the Mothers of World War II in 2000. Tommy's hobbies were quilting, bowling, square dancing and going to Wal-Mart.

Those surviving are her husband, Gerald; three sons, Robert N. Anderson Jr., Cambridge, Ronald E. Anderson and his wife, Pat, Lynn Center, Dan T. Anderson, Iowa City, Iowa; grandchildren (and spouses), Julia (Mike) Owens, Norridge, Ill., Rose (Mark) Schneider, Moline, Marty Kendall, Andalusia, John (Amy) Kendall, Wisconsin, Gabe (Sherri) Anderson, Geneseo, and Amy Harkey, Alpha. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Patrick and MaKayla Owens, Norridge, Noah and Grace Schneider, Moline, Samual Kendall, Wisconsin, Chever and Shaelee Harkey, Alpha, Cade and Lea Kendall, Andalusia; a sister, Lou Rishel, Geneseo; and three brothers, Donald Phillis, Moline, William Phillis, Peoria, Ill., and Dr. Richard Phillis, Milan. Her parents; her first husband; an infant daughter, Cindy Lou; and three brothers, preceded her in death.
