Born March 1, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late William Heck Sr. and Julia Hannon Heck of Wilkes-Barre. He graduated from Coughlin High School and attended Pennsylvania State University. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Keppler. An accomplished pilot, he served as past president of the Wyoming Valley Pilots Association. He was the owner of William Heck Construction Co. Inc., of Wilkes-Barre, and was currently serving as safety director for C.A. Murren and Sons Co., Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeannette (Jan) Osticco Heck, Dacula, Ga.; son attorney William J. Heck III, Henderson, Nev.; daughter Lisa Heck Walters and son-in-law Charles Walters, Dacula, Ga.; grandchildren Jean-Marie, Charles Nicholas, Lauren Michele and Mia Jeannette Walters, Dacula, Ga.; brother Thomas E. Heck, West Wyoming; and devoted sister Judie Heck Borucki and brother-in-law John Borucki, Loganville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
