In 1880 John A. Bahn was living with John and Elizabeth Reeser. The federal census record indicates that he is either widowed or divorced. John was a cabinet worker.

In 1880, John's son, Elmer Bahn, born in about 1876 in Pennsylvania was living with his grandparents Samuel and Susan Bahn in Manchester Township. Susan Bahn was born in about 1822 in Pennsylvania and Samuel Bahn was born in about 1821 in Pennsylvania.

In 1910 John A. Bahn is married to Eliza J. Bahn. They are living in Conewago Township. This is the second marriage for both. John is an undertaker. Living with them is their son Alvin C.
