Don Sauls, 71, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 13, 2010.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Brad Thompson, minister of Southwest Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Don was born June 12, 1938, in Burkburnett to Dan and Maurine Sauls. He married Lawanda Ward on March 28, 1980, in Amarillo.

He had a career at Car Quest Automotive since 1967. As a salesman and later, sales manager for the Amarillo Warehouse, he loved traveling the small towns of the Texas Panhandle, parts of New Mexico and Colorado. His customers were more than customers, they were also his friends.

He was proud to be in the first graduating class in 1956 of Palo Duro High School.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Sauls; his stepfather, Red Mershon; and a daughter, Dauphne Ward.

Survivors include his mother, Maurine Mershon of Amarillo; his wife, Lawanda Sauls; two daughters, Stacey Urbanczyk and husband Ben of Amarillo and Debbie Boyd of Plano; a son, Kyle Ray Sauls and wife Janina of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Ronald Sauls and wife Sharon of Amarillo; three sisters, Judy Mason and husband Cecil and LaRue and Allen Wadsworth, all of Amarillo, and Kayla and husband Tim Albritton of Woodstock, Ga.; three granddaughters; eight grandsons; and many loving nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
