Martha Jane Gibbs Died November 10th
Martha Jane Gibbs was born in Scotland County, April 16, 1867 and died November 10, 1942, age 75 years six months and 25 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kennedy. There are four living brothers, Lafe of Granger, Tom of Salem, Ia.; Dr. Marion of Kirksville and Edward of Memphis. At Keosauqua, Ia, she was married to Dr. Chas A. Gibbs on November 22, 1892. To this union three children were born. Two of these and the husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Leslie Hollis, the only daughter lives and it was she who looked after and cared for her mother these last years. There are also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild living. Most of her life has been spent at Hitt and Bible Grove where her husband practiced medicine. When she was fourteen years old she was converted and united with the Richland Baptist church and where she held her membership to the last."
