The former Ethel Towne was born Sept. 5, 1898 at Canton, Barron County, a daughter of he late Bradley and Ella Losey Towne.
She was married to Trubert O. Bancroft on March 29, 1916 in Chilton. He died Sept. 4, 1970.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Chilton.
Survivors are two sons, Roy of Milwaukee and Harold of Chilton; four daughters, Mrs. Athneil (Helen) Jaschob of Kiel, Mrs. Norval (Ruth) Hunt of Sheboygan, Mrs. Ellsworth (Hazel) Schuette of Cleveland and Mrs. Gerald (Bernice) Jost of Hilbert; 25 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, George, and a sister, Mrs. Ervin Brickmann, both of Hayward.
Funeral services were held at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, the Rev. Allan Bowe, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in the Union Cemetery, town of Charlestown.
