He was a preacher all his life. He lived in Reeder, W. Va., for a while and preached there. He later moved back to Doddridge Co., W. Va.

Charles Lee Hiley, wife Mary E. (Cavins) Hiley, & son Charles Ray Hiley are all buried in the Pigott Cemetery on Arnolds Creek near Central Station, W. Va.
