Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the Schaub Funeral Home, with Rev. Hugh Russell officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery at Wakefield.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Fuson observed her 100th birthday last Feb. 11 and throughout her advanced years she was keen minded and very alert mentally, possessing good hearing despite a slight defect in her vision.

She remained alert until her death, despite the fact that she had been ill for the past few weeks.

In an interview with the Daily Mail a year ago, she recalled attending the Illinois State Fair when it was held in Olney in 1887 and 1888. She also recalled the death of President William McKinley, who was shot by an assassin in 1901.

She and her husband moved to the present residence, located near the Jasper County line, about a year after their marriage.

Mrs. Jennie C. Fuson, 100 years old of Wakefield, and Richland County's oldest and finest citizens, died Monday afternoon at the Richland Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Fuson was born in Jasper County on February 11, 1868, daughter of the late William and Mary Hopkins Chestnut. She spent her early life in Jasper county, moving to Wakefield when she was married to John A. Fuson. He husband passed away on October 12, 1931. Mrs. Fuson was a faithful member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Wakefield.

She is survived by 10 children: Clarence C. Fuson and Mrs. William (Maud) Warren of Bogota, Dr. L. H. Fuson of St.Joseph, Missouri, Mrs. Lloyd (Ina) Combs of Rt. 6, Olney, Dr. William A. Fuson of Trenton, Missouri, Dr. R .C. Fuson of Reno, Nevada, Alvin A. Fuson of Peoria, Mrs. Roy (Marie) Bourne of Rt. 1 Noble, Merritt J. Fuson, of Decatur and Mrs. Myra Nadler of Wakefield: 15 grand- children, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grand- children.

Besides her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mabel Pryor, and four brothers, Oliver, John, Robert and William.
