Ronald Edward "Ron" Beaupre, 65, of Plainville, a former resident of Southington, passed away peacefully on Friday (March 12, 2010). He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Hartigan) Beaupre.

Born on June 3, 1944 in New Britain, he was the son of the late Roland and Anna (Yansko) Beaupre.

Ron grew up in New Britain and graduated from E.C. Goodwin Tech. Following his graduation, he joined the Navy and served for four years as a small engine mechanic while he was stationed in Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico during the time of the Cuban Crisis.

After the service, he worked for two years for Pratt and Whitney and then on to spending seventeen years with G.E. as an appliance technician. He went back for additional training with the CT School of Electronics. Ron then went on to work for E.C. Goodwin Technical School as an electromechanical instructor, where he spent seventeen years until his retirement in 2004. Outside of the workplace, he was a Eucharistic Minister for St. Dominic Church and was a devote Catholic.

In his earlier years, he was involved with the YMCA Indian Guide Program and the Redmen Club in Southington. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Ron attended sporting events and numerous pool parties with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him.

Besides his lovely wife, Nancy, he leaves his sons, Edward Beaupre and his wife, Michelle, of Southington, Keith Beaupre and his wife, Patty, Daniel Beaupre and his wife, Stacey, of Newington; his grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, Mackenzie, Jake, Mason and Logan; his brother, Dennis Beaupre and his wife, Mary Anne, of New Britain; a sister-in-law, Hope Lavery and her husband, James, of Newington; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Anna Beaupre.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, beginning at 9:00 a.m. from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Dominic Church, Southington.
Burial will follow the services in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
