Clinton Daily Democrat, Feb 20 2001 - Alsie Ione Wade died peacefully on January 29, 2001, in Kent, Washington, at the age of 90 years. Ione was born January 22, 1911, on a farm in Henry County, to Charley and Grace Jones Ford. Ione married Owen M. Wade on May 20, 1935, in Clinton. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1985. She worked for Brown Manufacturing where she made Chinese Checkers Boards and later for the Reynolds Manufacturing Company. While living in Clinton she was a member of the Clinton Christian Fellowship Church. She moved to Renton, Washington, seven years ago to be closer to her children. Ione was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Grace Ford, and her husband, Owen (Shorty) Meredith Wade. She is survived by her daughter, Deloris Woods and husband, Edward, Renton, Washington, and her son, William Wade and wife, AnaLee of Fair Oaks, California; one granddaughter, Pamela Sue Woods of Renton, Washington; one grandson, Derek Nolan Wade of Manchester, England; three great-grandchildren, Katrina, Amber and Christian Backman of Renton, Washington. Funeral services were held at Vansant-Mills Chapel on Saturday, February 3. Burial was in the Englewood Cemetery, Clinton.
