Mrs. Isabel G. Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Jena, Louisiana, died Thursday, February 1, 2007. A loving mother, wife and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Smith and son, Wayne Smith. A devoted church worker and member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Bible Study at nursing homes and to shut-ins. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the LaSalle Parish School System. She is survived by her children, Ann Herman and husband Dick of Blanchard, Idaho, Linda Bean and husband Jess of Baton Rouge, Wanda Leonard and husband John of Beaumont, Texas and Warren Smith of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 with Revs. Scotty McDowell and Preston Holder officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Jena. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
