William C Claypool (1832-1906) was born & raised in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, PA along Cadogan Slate Lick Road. He & his wife, Mary A Boyd (1833-1906), also of the same area, gave birth to 8 children who populated much of the area. They were Clarissa (Claypool) Bowser (1852-1939), Malinda "Lynn" (Claypool) Grafton (1855-1936), Allison "Adge" Claypool (1857-1939), Judson Wayne Claypool (1860-1930), Myra Rosamond (Claypool) Livengood (1865-1942), Aaron Neff Claypool (1867-1960), Anna Adaline (Claypool) Ruffaner (1869-1937), and Lida Alberta (Claypool) Gillam (1873-1906). None of the children left Armstrong County, most of them stayed in North Buffalo Township. All were active members of Union Baptist Church.
