Kay was born in Dallas, Texas, to Joseph and Peggy (Pool) Hurley. She grew up in Laguna Park and graduated from Meridian High School. She received an Associates Degree as an R.N. from McLennan Community College. Kay worked as Director of Nurses for several nursing homes in Central Texas. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney. Kay was an animal lover, especially horses.
Preceding her in death were her father; and brother, Joseph Sanford Hurley.
Survivors include her children, Chantelle Vines and Bruce Roberts, both of Whitney; granddaughter, Mikayla Adams; and grandson, Micah Adams; and her mother, Peggy Hurley, of Laguna Park.
