LEON - Ray Elmer Barr, 84, of Leon died Jan. 5, 2001, in Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, after a long illness.
He was a former employee of Ohio Apex Chemical Plant, Nitro, and was a farmer and construction worker. He attended Smith Community Church, Leon.
Surviving: wife, Gloria Ruth Sayre Barr; sons, Robert of Dunbar, Ronald of Bidwell, Ohio, Clayton and Tom, both of Leon; daughter, Louise Pringle of Wooster, Ohio; brothers, Dale of Leon, Charles B. of Walker; sisters, Nellie Casto of Belpre, Ohio, Inez Brotherton of Given, Delores Casto of Leon; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Charles B. Barr officiating. Burial will be in Barr family cemetery, Leon. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
