Mr. Thomas Colcord of this town died very suddenly last Friday afternoon, aged 74. He was as well as usual in the morning, and after breakfast went to his labor, which, that day, was hoeing corn. About 11 o'clock, he was taken unwell, and growing worse rapidly, he was taken to his house, and died about 5-1/2 o'clock in the afternoon. His disorder is said to have been Cholera Morbus. --Exeter News-Letter, Monday, August 6, 1860

His occupation is listed as "potter" in both the 1850 and 1860 censuses, and his home was located just a short walk from the old Exeter Pottery Works in "the plains" section of Exeter.
