Funeral services for William Ardis Marbury, Jr., 88, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Ruston, LA with The Reverend Edward M. Head, Jr. Rector and Reverend Douglas L. McGuire. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Mr. Marbury died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 in Ruston, LA following a recent illness. Mr. Marbury was born on July 22, 1917, in Ruston, Lincoln Parish, LA. He is the son of William Ardis Marbury, Sr. and Leola Ridgdill Marbury. He graduated from Louisana Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the School of Business Administration in 1936. Mr. Marbury married Virginia Lomax of Ruston, LA on September 5, 1943 and had two daughters. The Marbury's started many businesses and have been successfully running them for over sixty years.

Mr. Marbury is survived by his wife, Virginia Lomax Marbury; daughters, Rebekah Marbury Napper and husband Lue Charles Napper; grandson, Lomax Bailey Napper; Caroline Ardis Marbury, grandson, William Samuel Smart and granddaughter Virginia Elizabeth Smart; and sister Martha Marbury Gerig.

Memorials may be made to Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, Louisiana Tech University Scholarship Fund; Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, Ruston; Special Olympics or Charity of choice.

Pallbearers will be John Mills Armstrong, John Emory, Don Faust, Lee Griffin, John E. Maxwell, Dr. Dan Reneau, Mickey Slaughter, and Dr. F. Jay Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Davison, C. E. Faulk, Jr., Dr. Marvin T. Green, Dickie Heard, Wiley Hilburn, Jr., Thomas M. Hunt, Dr. J. V. Jones, Jr., Frank Miller, L. D. "Buddy" Napper, George Vance Sehon, John Shealy, Pat Siudy, Bill Tubre, Chastain Wardlaw, Carl A. Wilson, R. E. "Jack" Woodard, and Russell Woodard.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2005, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana.
