John Jarrett, 85, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Services are pending with Brown Funeral Director of Borger.

Mr. Jarrett was born May 25, 1915, and was a native of Jefferson. He was a Borger resident for 40 years. He was a member of the Corinthian Baptist Church in Jefferson. He was a retired gardener for Frank Phillips College.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma L. Jarrett, on Nov. 30, 1983; one son, Thomas McCoy on Jan. 4, 1995; two brothers, Albert Jarrett and Oscar Jarrett, and four sisters, Hattie Jones, Esther Hubert, Eddie B. and Rosetta.

Survivors include three sons, Ernest Jarrett of Borger, Benny Jarrett of Bartlesville, Okla. and Johnny Jarrett of San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, Berthran Jarrett and Willie James Jarrett, both of Jefferson and Nathaniel Jarrett of San Diego, Calif.; five sisters, Bertha Parker, Carrie Mae Jarrett, Doris Jarrett, Eva Jefferson and Elizabeth McCoy, all of Jefferson; three step-sisters, Helen Bates of Sacramento, Calif.; Gladys Booker of Kaufman and Imogene Moore of Tracy, Calif.; one step-brother, Clyde Reliford of Los Angeles, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

BORGER - John Jarrett, 85, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Brown Funeral Directors, Chapel of the Fountains. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Jarrett, a native of Jefferson, had lived in Borger 40 years. He retired as gardener from Frank Phillips College.
