Margaret Lucille Sprunger Eggers, 95, a resident of Logansport, and a former resident of Berne, Fort Wayne, Warsaw and Lafayette, died on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Chase Rehabilitation Center in Logansport. She was born on July 26, 1914, in Berne, to Jonas and Zilla (Gilliom) Sprunger. She was married on May 16, 1937 to Delmar Milton Eggers, the son of Friedrick and Wilhelmina Kiel Eggers. She grew up in Berne and attended school there. She worked at Prairie View Rest Home and Da-Lite Screen Company in Warsaw, The Fashion in Lafayette and The Golden Rule in Logansport. She served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in Warsaw and as a volunteer at the Cass County Children's Home in Logansport. She enjoyed working with children, taking long walks in Logansport's Riverside Park and reading—especially biographies of the presidents. She is survived by three daughters, Carol Zuck of Seal Beach, California; Kathryn Neff of New Carlisle, Ohio; and Rebecca Sadler of Lusby, Maryland; one son, Philip Eggers of New York City, New York; three brothers, Freadus; and Merlin Sprunger, both of Berne; and Verne Sprunger of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Doris Sprunger of Fort Wayne; and Bernice (Sprunger) Yager of Berne; ten grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; and two brothers, Otis; and Lowell Sprunger, both of Berne. A service will be held at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30. Memorials may be made to The Morningstar Girls' Home, 829 Spencer Street, Logansport, IN 46947.
